What is the difference between single knit and double knit slippers?

Single knit slippers are knitted with two strands of yarn (one of each color) they are warm and comfy. Double knit slippers are made with 4 strands of yarn (two of each color) making these slippers ultra warm and much more durable. The only exception to this is when we use one color that is super bulky yarn (a thickness equal to or greater than that of two strands of yarn put together). Then we may use a total of 3 strands of yarn instead of 4. This will be left to our discretion as to whether it will look right to have 3 or 4 strands of yarn used.

We have found that our double knit slippers last much longer and certainly keep your feet much warmer than single knit slippers. Everyone has their own preferences. Which style you choose depends upon your personal preferences as well as the climate you live in or the time of year you plan to wear your slippers. Slippers can be worn any time of year!

Can I wear my slippers outside?

Knitted slippers should only be worn indoors. If you do choose to wear them outside to gather the mail etc. then you do run the risk of damaging them and shortening their life span. My mother is famous for this !

Do the pompom's stay on?

Pompoms will stay on, but over time and with washings they do tend to fall off. You can make new one's for your slippers, or just leave them off. The slippers do still keep your feet warm without the pompoms. We do not replace pompoms once they have fallen off. If you do wish to have new one's made by us there will be a charge to remake the pompom and shipping fees. If you prefer to have us attach it to your slipper then you will need to ship us the slipper to be repaired. Please contact us to make these arrangements.

Is it possible to request another color for any knitted garment you offer?

You may also request colors not listed and we will try to accommodate your preferences. However, this may change the price if your color choice is in a different type of yarn than our standard yarn for the product you are ordering.

Why does it take so long to get my knitted gift?

Each hand-knitted item is made as orders are received. We do not stock our hand-knitted products. During holiday or heavy ordering times some products may take longer to get out the door to you.  This does not mean it takes a long time to knit only that my back log may be high.  We will inform you if there will be an unusually long delay in starting your order.  It is best if you can advise me if you need it within a specific time frame. We will let you know if we can meet your timeline.  Making our hand-knitted gifts as orders are received helps us and you and ensures you get a fresh product not one that's been on the shelf for several years.

We do try to have some slippers and select other knitted items made up in highly requested sizes and styles for the Christmas holiday rush.  We will put a 'what's in stock' notice on the ordering page if we have specific sizes or colors already made, so you can choose from those if they meet your needs.

Please use the guideline for ordering knitted items on each page. Rush orders will be assesed a rush order fee and we cannot guarentee deadlines.  We will do our best to meet your deadline, but make no guarentees. Rush order fees will vary depending upon the item ordered, so please ask us at the time of ordering what those fees are.

Are you willing to sell your patterns to me so I can make them myself?

At this time we are NOT making our patterns available to the public. Please understand that we make our living with our designs and can NOT give the patterns away. If you contact us for FREE patterns or to buy our copyrighted patterns we will not respond. We will publish our patterns in a knitting book sometime in the future. When the publication is available you will see a pattern book for sale on our website and in the book stores. Thank you for your understanding!
