Sizing Your Hand-Knitted
Garments
For correct sizes please follow the instructions below and contact
us with any questions you may have prior to ordering. For accurate
foot measurements please make sure you or your child is standing
upright.
Please make sure your measurements are accurate as we cannot
accept returns for sizing errors. It is always best to plan well in
advance when ordering any of our hand-knitted gifts.

Care and Instructions: For
each product there will be a care instruction listed just below the
buy button. Most items will be machine washable and dryable, but in
some cases you will need to take extra care. You will receive
detailed care instructions with each order you place for our
Hand-Knitted products. Please follow the instructions to ensure your
the long life of each garment
Baby Blanket Measurement: Blanket sizes are listed and are
approximate. If you would like a size not listed you may request it
and we will try to accommodate your preferences. Measurements are
from the outside edge to the outside edge in each direction. Please
allow 8-12 weeks for shipment of our baby blankets. While some
blankets do not take that long, we do ask that you allow this much
time. It is always best to plan well in advance when ordering any of
our hand-knitted blankets.
Baby Bootie Measurement: Bootie sizes are listed and are
based upon infant sizing (0-6 months) within the patterns we use.
Scarf Measurement: Please measure from one hip to around the
neck to the other hip. This will be the total length, not including
fringe, of your scarf. If you want the scarf long so it may go
around you or your child's neck twice simply provide me with the
height of the person you are ordering the scarf for.
Slipper Measurement: Standing on the tape measure, please
measure from the bottom of your heal to the tip of the longest toe.
This is more important than shoe sizes for a more exact slipper fit.
However, if your foot is very wide please let us know as we will
need to adjust the size accordingly. This measurement method is the
same whether it is for an adult or child. However, since children's
feet grow fairly quickly you may wish to have them made one size
larger. You will need to specify this when placing your order.
Please provide us with the nearest whole or half inch size to your
measurement. If your foot measures 9 3/4" then you should select a
10" size if your foot measures 9 1/4 you should select 9 1/2" and so
forth. See other sizing information below.
Sizing TIP - If you are not able to get a foot measurement of the
person you are ordering slippers for: If you are ordering
slippers for someone as a gift and don't want to spoil the surprise
then you can try this method...it's not fool proof but generally
will give a close enough result as exact foot measurements. Simply
take a fabric tape measure and place it INSIDE the shoe belonging to
the individual and push it all the way to the tip of the toe being
careful not to move the tape measure hold it in place while with the
other hand pull the tape measure to the heal of the shoe. Deduct
1/2" from this measurement and that should give you the correct size
slipper. Hope this helps those wish to surprise their loved ones!
Slippers do stretch for comfort, but accurate measurements are very
important.
Important Note About Slipper Sizing: Adult Sizes 10" and up are
listed as Large anything under that is a Medium and an additional
$2.00 will be added to your order for width's larger than D. You
must let us know if your feet are wider than a D or your slipper may
not fit properly. Please note other sizes or color preferences in
the comments box (Any size larger than what is listed will be
charged an additional $5.00 fee). Please be aware than if you
provide us with a smaller size in order to avoid the extra charges
and your slippers are tight (too small) for you then it is NOT due
to poor sizing on our part. We make these slippers to your exact
measurements. It is very important that you are precise in telling
us your foot measurements and not your shoe sizes. This is the only
way these slippers can be made for accurate fit. The extra charges
are due to the extra time and materials needed to make the slippers
larger. Slippers do stretch for comfort, but accurate measurements
are very important. ** If you have a larger bone near the top of
your foot near the opening you must let us know. We can adjust the
opening during the making but once they have been made and shipped
we can't adjust anything.
GENERAL RULE OF THUMB WHEN SUBMITTING SLIPPER SIZES
The general rule of thumb when submitting foot sizes if you can't
provide us with the exact tape measured foot size if you have
narrow to normal width shoes then add 1 1/2" - 2" to the
measurement for the correct slipper size. For wide or extra wide
shoes add 2 1/2" and you need to let us know, so we can be sure to
make the width wider so they won't be too tight across the foot.
(EXAMPLE: If you wear a women's size 7 1/2 shoe enter a size 9" foot
on the order for Normal width for wide add 1/2" - 1" more). **
Please follow the slipper measurement instructions above for
more accurate foot measurements.
Important Ordering Information: We will not accept orders for
adults in the children's section. Even if your feet are small you
must order from the adult category. We make the children's sizes
smaller than the adult sizes to allow for smaller width and height
of children's feet, so even though the size in inches may be the
same we do not make them the same, nor are they priced the same. If
you have a child with larger feet than what is listed you will need
to order from the adult section and let us know if they are for a
child. If your order is for a child with adult size feet in every
way then all you need to do is order in the adult section.
